I started learning photography since I was in Taipei. It because of my friends who liked to show off their photos on the internet. I was attracted and motivated to know how they did that. To began with, I started my journey in photography with semi-pro camera, Canon PowerShot S5 IS. It was good camera for a beginner, because it has features to adjust the aperture, the shutter speed, and the ISO manually.
And then at some points, that camera could not satisfy me anymore. I wanted more control and more quality in every pictures I take. I moved to Nikon D90 with the kit-lens. Until one day, I was asked by my friend to take picture for her University project. Which was, I had to take pictures of all staff, the environment of the faculty, and the facilities that they have. I brought a friend to company me doing this project. Finally I have reason to buy another lense. I bought Nikkor 50mm F/1.4.
A few years lately, I became more interested on videography. I made a team called Lentera Ide with my friends who are studying in Taiwan. We produced 3 episodes. Two regular episodes, and another special episode.
Last year, I was converted, from Nikon to Canon. I sold my Nikon. The consideration came from the conclusion of the survey that I took, which told me that Canon is better to produce movie than Nikon. I chose Canon EOS 60D to become my sidekick on doing both, video and photo. For now on, this camera is armed with three lenses, Canon 17-40mm F/4L, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L II IS, and Voigtlander 40mm F/2. I also have Fujifilm X10 as my buddy.
After leaving Taiwan without handed graduation certificate, I continued to study filmmaking. I joined the filmmaking workshop held by New York Film Academy and CCTV-6 in Beijing for 4 weeks. In the future, I hope I can make a movie which is played on theater.
